A faithful reimagining of the legendary Binson Echorec tape delay, the Catalinbread Echorec is capable of emulating the unique rhythmic delay patterns of the original unit and more! Built with a discrete input section modeled after the gain staging of the original unit, the unaffected “dry” of the guitar is given an evocative warmth. The character of the delay is unmistakable as the trails die away in a unique way that seems to become increasingly filtered and “tapey.” The original Echorec let you adjust the arrangement of the tape heads in different configurations but did not actually offer a delay time control. With the combination fo the 12-way “program” select knob and a dedicated delay time knob, the options are virtually limitless!
